Lot n° 373
1953 JAGUAR MK VII
Châssis n° 737189BW
Estimation : 12 000 / 18 000 €
Résultat (Lots undefined) : 16200 €

Very rare in the market of collectinable car, this beautiful Jaguar MK VII will seduce you with its patina and its elegant lines. The chassis Mark VII is the heritage of the Jaguar Mark V and wheelbase remained the same. As on the Mark V, the rear wheels have been partially covered by removable wheel cover. While Mark V was a prewar engine originally developed by the Standard Motor Company, the Mark VII was driven by the new XK engine. The 6-cylinder in-line 3442 cm3 derived from the XK 120 provided 160 hp for a top speed of 100 mph! Belonging to the same owner for over 20 years, this MK VII has always been maintained because it was used for films and weddings. It was repainted more than fifteen years ago, few corrosion spots at the end of the doors has to be treated, and its roof paint but it is presented in a very healthy condition even below. Its original interior has few defects and smelling the 50s! Both tanks have recently been redone by a professional. It is a French left-hand drive, manual transmission and sunroof

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
