Very nice to see a LHD Mark VII on the Site; the "big sedans"are a much neglected part of Jaguar history, and the Mark VII was perhaps the best of them..today a very rare car. I have fond memories of the Mark VII; my father bought one in the late 1950's and it was the family car for many years; I learned to drive on a 1952 Mark VII like yours. Big, fast, and comfortable; a dream on the road, and very good exercise for the arms when parking. I can still remember the smell of old leather, oil, and a bit of leaking gas, the sound of the open sunroof, the Moss gearbox, the wonderful engine note, and the unique "hiss" of the starting carburetor when cold...many good memories...(makes me forget about the Girling brakes and their continuous air leaks)
I wish your the best of luck with the restoration, and many happy miles, like I had..
A great car.

Best Regards,
Jim Scott.
