    Car offered at:
    classicshowcase.com/index.php/inventory/detail/310

    Sellers description:
    Current condition: SHOW-DRIVER
    Transmission: 4 speed manual
    Color exterior: Imperial Maroon
Color interior: Tan (with Tan top)
Mileage: 57,168 original miles / 939 since restoration
    Wheels: Steel wheels with hubcaps
    Vin #: 647465
    Engine #: Z3514
    Gearbox #: JH4428
    Other 1: Body Number: DH1680

The car was owned by a church where it was stored in a barn when the previous owner found it, bought it and commissioned the restoration. The restoration was taken to a no expense spared Concours level. The craftsman ship is superb as well as the color combination. It has been driven less than 1000 miles since the restoration to properly sort it out. It is very hard to find cars of this caliber. This is truly for the discerning collector who demands the best.

    Additional information from above auction:

    Lot 8
An unrestored barn find owned by a church and tucked away undisturbed for many years before the prior owner purchased it, this final-year Mk V from 1951 received a comprehensive professional restoration with no possible expense spared. Featuring excellent colors and craftsmanship, it has been driven less than 1,000 miles since the restoration was completed. Following acquisition by the consignor, it was enhanced by the Jaguar experts at Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California, with all systems reviewed and addressed as needed. It is well appointed with a beautiful and luxurious leather- and wood-trimmed interior and powered by the desirable, top-specification 3.5-litre engine. A JDHT Certificate and tool kit accompany the Mk V at auction. Very rare, especially in this fine restored condition, this 1951 Jaguar Mk V is ft for the discerning collector and ready to enjoy.

Car to return to auction 10/15

    Auction description:
    1951 Jaguar Mark V 3½-Litre Drophead Coupe
    Hershey 8-9 October 2015
    Chassis no. 647465
    Engine no. T8134
    Beautifully restored in attractive colors
The most desirable Mark V variant

This particular 1951 3½-Litre Drophead Coupe was reportedly found stored in a barn by a previous owner, who then commissioned a full restoration with the marque specialists at Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California. Refinished at that time in its present dark red with a beige interior and matching beige convertible top, the car looks truly stunning in all regards. The wood trim on the dashboard is highly polished, and this Mark V truly oozes sporting elegance both inside and out.

With wonderful performance and room for four, the Mark V offers an incredible driving experience that only a Jaguar can provide. It can be argued that the Mark V Drophead Coupe was the XK120 for the enthusiast with a family, and this example will surely not disappoint in any regard.

This is a historically significant postwar Jaguar model, offered with JDHT certificate. It has been beautifully restored at Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California. The MK V Drophead Coupe is arguably the most desirable Mark V variant. This example is powered by a 3.5-liter engine and four-speed synchromesh transmission.

A church reportedly was the original owner of this beautiful MK V. It had been stored in a barn when the previous owner found it, bought it and commissioned the no expense spared restoration, by Classic Showcase in Oceanside, California. It has been driven less than 1,000 miles since the restoration, but enough to know it has been well sorted. This Jaguar is a wonderful driver in all respects.

This automobile has been refinished in its current dark red, beige interior and matching beige convertible top, with polished wood trim on the dashboard. The restoration, in the early 2000s, included an engine rebuild and the addition of a discreet, custom-built air conditioning unit.

Car to be at auction 8/19

    www.mecum.com/lots/CA0819-380864/1951-jaguar-mkv-drophead-coupe/

    Auction description:

    Lot F155 Monterey 2019

    VIN/Serial 647465

    Barn find

No expensed spared comprehensive professional restoration

    Leather and wood interior

    3.5L engine

    4-speed manual transmission

    Hydraulic brakes

    Imperial Maroon with Tan interior

    Steel wheels with hubcaps

    Fender skirts

This 1951 drophead coupe is a stunning example, sumptuously appointed with a leather interior and walnut trim, and it was restored with no expense spared. At its heart is the 3485cc pushrod overhead-valve straight-6 that powered the immortal prewar SS100. With its 126 HP rating, it will whisk the MkV to 91 MPH, with roadholding, ride comfort and handling that earned the accolade of “world class.” British magazine “The Motor” summed up the 3.5L MkV thus: “The combination of performance, refinement and stamina which it offers is altogether outstanding.” Despite superficial similarities with the MkIV, the MkV is a revelation by comparison. The MkIV was a stopgap, prewar hangover model, the MkV being a developmental step-change combining prewar elegance with postwar engineering and dynamics. Perhaps most remarkable in its day was that the MkV drophead could be had new for a quarter or less of the price of a coachbuilt Bentley or Rolls-Royce convertible. It was a truly outstanding machine.
