    Car was at auction 2/12
    www.historics.co.uk/previous-auctions/18th-february-2012/1948-jaguar-mk-iv-3%C2% ...

    Auction description:
Lot 230 - 1948 Jaguar Mk. IV 3½L, Three Position Drophead Coupé
    Registration: Unregistered
    Chassis Number: 637160
    Engine Number: SL3195
    Odometer reading: 04525
    Estimate: £42,000-£52,000
    Hammer: Not Sold
This Jaguar Mk. IV 3½ litre three position drophead coupé was supplied on 21st May 1948 by Hoffman of New York. Max Hoffman, was the sole importer of a number of European automobiles into the United States right through the fifties and sixties, to a Mr. Hervey Kent who ordered the car to be painted in black. Having spent all of its life in the United States and having the colour changed to green at some point, the car was imported to the United Kingdom last year. This Jaguar has been described as running well and is an ideal cosmetic restoration project. The car is supplied with a United States registration document, a Jaguar Heritage Certificate and the VAT documentation showing the taxes have been paid for registration in the EC. This is a most impressive Three Position Drophead Coupé that will grace any collection.

Car to return to auction 6/14
    www.barons-auctions.com/details.php

    Auction description:
    Manufacturer Jaguar Cars
Model MK IV 3.5 DHC (LHD)
    First Registered 1948
    Registration No NoUKReg
    Engine No SL3195
    Chassis No 637160
    MOT None
    Colour Green

An ex California car, this MKIV 3.5 Litre DHC is offered complete with the title from that state and a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. The car was originally finished in black with pig skin interior and a grey hood and was supplied by Hoffman of New York.

This very sound Jaguar MKIV DHC is offered as a rolling restoration project, which could be used and improved. Despite not requiring an MoT, the car was submitted for the test and it was found that it did not require huge amounts of work to achieve the required standard.

One of just 560 MKIV DHC's built and just 376 in LHD form, this is a rare Jaguar offering outstanding value for money.
    Guide Price: £37500 to £45500

A mint 100 point restoration has just been completed on this car. It is the best we have ever seen in utterly brand new condition. Need we say more?

The car is finsihed in Gunmetal metallic to the exterior with burgundy hides to the interior. A full original tool kit is fitted to the bood lid.

If you want the best in the world, here it is.
