Auction description:
Ascot Racecourse September 26th 2020
1950 Jaguar Mk. V
Lot Number 261
Registration LXD 440
Chassis Number 624520
Engine Number 23331
Odometer reading 36,210 miles
Estimate No Reserve Print details
From a private collection
Single family ownership for over four decades
Comprehensive history file
This Jaguar Mk. V has been part of a private collection for over four decades and comes with a sizeable history file detailing various maintenance work that has been completed over the years. Included in the file are various sundry invoices, photographs of the car and many previous MoT test certificates. Showing a mere 36,210 miles on the odometer the history file that accompanies the car suggests the mileage to be correct although it cannot be warranted. Offered in light blue over a grey leather interior, this Jaguar presents in generally very good order for a car of its age. The paintwork presents well but does show some minor defects in a few areas. The interior is nicely patinated and in largely very good condition having been dry stored for some time. Included in the sale is the original toolkit with most of the original tools present. This Jaguar is currently not running and will require some light recommissioning to get it back on the road. This is a very original example and it presents a fantastic opportunity to acquire a Mk. V that comes with a wonderful history.
