The Appeal
This one has enjoyed a similarly charmed life, having been through only two owners from new and spending many of its years as an exhibit.
With a remarkably low 79,843 miles from new, and a decade-old restoration under its belt, this car has spent much of its life being cosseted, with only the occasional wedding, car show or corporate event interrupting a very peaceful existing. Matching numbers, a desirable colour scheme and two periods of long-term ownership - this is a classic with everything going for it.
The History and Paperwork
First registered on 6th October 1949
One former registered keeper for 65 years
In current ownership for the past 10 years
The car was taken to a classic vehicle specialist in December of 2015 in the Enfield area where it was completely disassembled for restoration
Since then it's spent much of its life being exhibited in a London Motor Museum
The car has occasionally visited car shows, been used for corporate events or been used as a wedding hire
Vehicle has been recently serviced and checked over by a classic vehicle specialist
Car will be supplied with a fresh MOT
Presented with Jaguar-Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate
The Condition
During the restoration in 2015, work included:
Soda blasting of bodywork, with metalwork repairs where necessary
The chassis was also blasted and all components either restored or replaced
Full repaint
All chrome work was removed and sent out for restoration and re-chroming
Interior completely refurbished by a specialist retrimmer
The car is still in fine order, and presents beautifully in its two-tone paint
The interior is beautifully matched with no sign of any rips or tears
Wood cappings and veneers are all very bright and clean
Instruments are clear and legible
We've no reports of any technical faults inside the cabin
The Mechanics
3.5-Litre six-cylinder pushrod engine
4-speed manual transmission
Original numbers matching engine and transmission
Engine completely rebuilt with electronic ignition added in 2015
Transmission overhauled with a new clutch fitted in the same year
The vendor informs us that the car starts reliably and runs smoothly, even in cold conditions
We've no reports of any mechanical issues throughout the car
