This 1963 Jaguar Mk II was manufactured on May 2, 1963, and distributed via Jaguar Cars in New York. It was sent to England in 1999, at which time refurbishment work was completed by Autocats in Essex. Additional refurbishment work was completed under subsequent ownership in Canada, and the car was then relocated to California and acquired by the current owner in 2021. Power is provided by an overbored 3.8-liter inline-six linked with a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and the car is finished in metallic blue over dark blue leather. Equipment includes four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, and power steering in addition to an adjustable wood-rimmed steering wheel, a CD stereo, and air conditioning. This Mk II is now offered on dealer consignment at no reserve with a Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust Certificate, the owner’s manual, service records, spare parts, and a clean California title listing the car as a 1964 model.
The car left the factory finished in Silver Blue and was repainted during the refurbishment work in 1999. Additional bodywork and paintwork were performed on the left front fender in 2007. Equipment includes a Leaper hood ornament, a pop-up cowl vent, and chrome wraparound bumpers.
The 15″ wire wheels are mounted with Vredestein tires, and the car has been equipped with power-assisted rack-and-pinion steering. Work in 2022 involved fitting rebuilt front brake calipers as well as replacing the front and rear rotors, the control arms, and the front shocks. The rear shocks were replaced in 2021.
The refreshed cabin houses front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in dark blue leather, while burl walnut veneers adorn the dashboard, door caps, and window frames. Interior equipment includes a Pioneer CD stereo, air conditioning, and front and rear vent windows. The shifter boot was replaced in 2024.
The Derrington wood-rimmed steering wheel features telescoping adjustment and fronts a 200-km/h speedometer and a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock. Centrally positioned auxiliary gauges display water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. Wiring repairs were performed following a dash fire in 2003, and the speedometer cable was replaced in 2022. The five-digit odometer shows 15k kilometers (~9k miles), and total mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter XK inline-six was overhauled in 1999 and has been bored .040″ over, while replacement bearings and piston rings were fitted in 2008. An electric cooling fan and a remote starter switch have been installed. The fuel sending unit was replaced in 2022, and an oil change and coolant flush were performed in 2024.
Work in 1999 involved fitting a full-synchromesh four-speed manual gearbox with overdrive. The clutch was replaced in 2008, and work since 2021 involved replacing the left axle, the clutch slave cylinder, and fluids for the transmission and differential. A stainless-steel exhaust system is fitted.
The Jaguar Daimler Heritage Trust certificate shows that the car was manufactured on May 2, 1963, and dispatched via Jaguar Cars in New York. Spare parts will also accompany the car.
The chassis number 222752 is listed on the data plate and the sequence prepended with “J64” is listed as the VIN on the current California title.
