Auction description:
Lot 305
1963 JAGUAR MK II 3.8-LITER SALOON
Chassis no. 221734DN
Engine no. LC4152-8
Without reserve
US$ 50,000 - 70,000
£29,000 - 41,000
Outfitted with the highly desirable 3.8-liter motor mated to a 4-speed manual transmission with overdrive, this numbers matching MK II is the ultimate iteration of the model. Originally painted Signal Red, the car now wears a combination of white over tan hides. A car with which to make friends and influence people, it is said to have belonged to an heir of Dale Carnegie for three decades.
Showing 43,000 miles, which are believed to be original from new, this Jaguar has received a thorough re-commissioning. Having been mechanically sorted, the MK II has also been the recipient of a recent repaint, new chrome wire wheels and tires, new rubber throughout, fresh chrome, newly refurbished wood trim, and new interior trim including fresh leather, carpet, and headliner. Complete with its original spare and owner's handbook, along with a file of restoration receipts over an inch and a half thick, this MK II provides the driving excitement and style of an E-Type with an extra set of doors and a proper rear seat - the perfect sports car for family outings!

Ebay item 8/22/14
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-Other-4-dr-1963-Jaguar-3-8-Mark-II-Saloon-/171428853037
Current bid $10,499 reserve not met 15 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in Portland, Oregon.
Sellers description:
1963 Jaguar Mark II,
Portland, Oregon car for many years. Well known heiress who kept it in remarkable condition. Recent restoration done to very nice standards. Records, original owners manual, keys, unused tool kit and original spare. 43,876 actual miles. Never damaged and absolutely no rust anywhere. Probably one of very few with no corrosion.
Nice glass like paint with few blemishes and the body is laser straight. The doors fit and shut flawlessly and all the body seams are as it was when it left the factory. All new body and door rubber. Original glass in excellent condition. Nearly all new chrome except some nice original pieces.
New correct leather interior. New headliner and carpets. Polished walnut and original dash gauges that work correctly.
The Jaguar retains its original matching numbers motor, transmission, and rear end. The motor runs like a watch and is fitted to correct exhaust that sounds like 1963 with a freshly coated manifold. Rebuilt carburetor and fuel system. The transmission shifts smoothly and is surprisingly quiet along with the drive train and rear end. The steering is tight and responsive. All the braking system has been rebuilt. New booster and brake cylinders. Clutch, throw out bearing and pressure plate replaced during restoration. Drives smooth and tight. The 3.8 is remarkably powerful.
New radials and chrome wire wheels. As stated, the underside of the Mark II is amazing. All the edges underneath are crisp and correct. The underside is all satin black and looks like it just left Coventry.
Remarkably nice low mileage car with history, books, tools, records and careful attention to detail during restoration.
