Lot #197089

This 1962 Jaguar Mk II was dispatched to New York in January 1962 and is powered by a replacement 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Finished in green over beige leather, the car is equipped with a limited-slip differential, four-wheel disc brakes, 15″ wire wheels, front bucket seats, and a wood dashboard. The selling dealer acquired the car in May 2025 and states that it was previously owned in New York state and was refurbished sometime between 1998 and 2013. This Mk II is now offered with a Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate, partial service records, an owner’s manual, a jack, a tool kit, and a Pennsylvania title that lists the model year as 1963.

Originally finished in Bronze, the car has been repainted in British Racing Green, according to the seller. Exterior equipment includes a Leaper hood ornament, a pop-up cowl vent, front and rear vent windows, dual exhaust outlets, and chrome wraparound bumpers with overriders as well as a chrome grille, window surrounds, and trim. The seller notes touched-up paint chips on the body along with checking on the driver-side fender.

The chrome-finished 15″ wire wheels were mounted with 185R15 Vredestein Sprint Classic tires in preparation for the sale. The car was factory equipped with an independent front suspension and a cantilevered live rear axle. Braking is provided by four-wheel discs.

The cockpit has been reupholstered and features front bucket seats and a rear bench trimmed in beige leather along with color-coordinated door panels. Burl walnut veneers adorn the dashboard, door caps, and window frames.

The two-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a 6k-rpm tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges displaying water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 30k miles, approximately 50 of which were added by the seller.

The 3.8-liter inline-six was replaced under prior ownership. The dual SU carburetors were rebuilt and the fuel pump was replaced in 2020.

The stamping on the cylinder head matches information on the car’s identification plaque and on the heritage certificate. The stamping on the engine block is LA1468-8.

A four-speed manual transmission with overdrive directs power to the rear wheels via a limited-slip differential.

Chassis number P220009DN is shown on the identification tag above, whereas the Pennsylvania title omits the “P” prefix and the “DN” suffix. The numerical sequence 220009 by itself is found elsewhere on the car.

The Jaguar Heritage Trust certificate shows various identification numbers as well as a manufacture date of January 4, 1962 and initial delivery to a distributor in New York.

The Pennsylvania title carries an “Antique Vehicle” brand and cites 1963 as the model year.
