Ebay item 3/13/07
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/ws/eBayISAPI.dll
Current bid $5,655, no reserve, 5 bids, 5 days left in auction.

Sellers description:
1960 Jaguar MK II with a rebuilt original 3.8 liter 6 cyl. engine, 4 speed transmission with rare and desirable overdrive. The engine has less than 3,000 miles since rebuild, and runs very strong. I drive this car frequently, but usually just around town or to the golf club. It goes and stops very well.

The radiator and carbs have been rebuilt, and a spin-on oil filter adapter has been added. A new fuel pump has been fitted. The original oil bath air filter has pin holes in the reservoir, and has been replaced with foam air filters. The generator has been flashed for a negative ground system.

The transmission, while fully functional has week synchros (shift slowly), and the overdrive is sluggish to engage, Both would benefit from a rebuild.

The brakes have been rebuilt, with new seals and pads all round, including the hand (emergency) brake and master cylinder. The servo is a new XJ6 replacement from Roadster Factory with 30% more boost pressure (recommended by Roadster Factory - the rebuild kits for the original unit are not available). Stops straight, and on a dime !

All the gauges are functional, but the speedometer reads 10 MPH fast.

The body and chassis are very solid, and has had a paint job. There are some small rust areas on the bottom of the doors and fenders. This is a good-looking car from 15 feet.

The interior is functional, but not pretty. The headliner is dirty and sagging. The vinyl upholstery has been replaced on the drivers seat (does not match) and the passenger seat is cracked at the seams. The carpets were removed, so I have floor mats to prevent wearing away the sound deadening. All the woodwork needs refinishing. There are 4 good tires, but the spare is shot. The original tool kit holder is present, but missing most of the tools. Included are the grease gun, cam timing tool and ratchet for the jack.

Current bid $5,555 reserve not met, 10 bids 6 days left in auction. Car now said to be in North Andover, Massachusetts.

Sellers description:
1960 Mk II Jaguar with only 101,965 miles on the odometer. This car is finished in white with a black leather interior. This vehicle is in near perfect condition and the total package makes it a truly attractive car.

This Mk II Jaguar comes with its numbers matching 3.8 liter engine coupled to a 4 speed manual transmission with overdrive. We cannot be certain but we believe that the engine was rebuilt coindident with a restoration that looks to be no more than 5 years old. The interior trim is finished in walnut and comes with the walnut picnic tables in the back of the front seats. This is a beautiful vehicle that is made even more atrractive by the 3.8 liter engine. We welcome you to come and see the car or to have the car inspected by the third party of your choice. If you love the Jaguar Mk II, then there is no reason why you should let this car pass you by!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
