Car to be at auction 4/21

www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2021-04-17/cars/ref-122-1960-jaguar-mk-ii-38 ...

Auction description:

Ascot Racecourse April 17th 2021

1960 Jaguar Mk. II (3.8 litre)

Lot Number 127

Registration KFF 882

Chassis Number 211735 BW

Engine Number 3456-8

Odometer reading 2,489 miles

Estimate £19,000 - £24,000

Built on 26th February 1960 and dispatched to Jaguar Cars, New York, this well-presented 3.8 litre Mk. II was repatriated to the UK in 1994 where it was subsequently professionally converted to right hand drive. The Jaguar still retains its original 3.8 litre automatic gearbox and original engine and is fitted with power steering. Presented in Signal Red with a blue leather interior, this well-maintained car is fitted with a high torque starter, an alloy radiator and an additional electronic fan. Reported to start and run well, this Jaguar comes complete with substantial bills on file for maintenance work over the last six years as well as many old Mot test certificates dating back to 2011. Having had just three owners since being in the UK this Jaguar is supplied with a good history file, a JDHT dating certificate, UK registration document and an original owner’s handbook. This Jaguar is a well cared for example with style and comfort in abundance.

Car returns to auction 3/24

www.historics.co.uk/buying/auctions/2024-02-03/cars/ref-184-1960-jaguar-mk-ii-38 ...

Auction description, note same photos as 2021 auction:

Ascot Racecourse March 2nd 2024

Lot 126 - 1960 Jaguar Mk. II (3.8 Litre)

Registration KFF 882 Chassis Number 211735BW Engine Number 3456-8 Odometer reading 2,675 miles Estimate £17,000 - £22,000

Manufactured on 26th February 1960 and dispatched to Jaguar Cars, New York, this well-presented 3.8 litre Mk. II was repatriated to the UK in 1994. Retaining the original engine and gearbox, this Jaguar also benefits from power steering, a very important addition! Some 30 years ago it was converted to right hand drive and it also has a high-torque starter motor, an alloy radiator and an additional electric fan. Presented in Signal Red with a blue leather interior, we are advised this Jaguar runs and drives well. Supplied with a V5C registration document and a good history file, together with a JDHT dating certificate and an original owner’s handbook. The vendor purchased the car from ourselves in 2021 and has invested a further £2,000 in improving the car during his stewardship. A very useable iconic classic Jaguar and, given the estimate, offered at a realistic price.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
