This Jaguar MK II 3.8 Manual with overdrive was UK built and then exported to Australia, where it spent its first thirty years, having only the one owner. The vendor then purchased the car from a family friend in 1992 and repatriated the car to the UK. Whilst in Australia the car was converted to manual with overdrive (originally auto) and painted in British Racing Green with red leather interior.

When imported the car was showing 23,000 miles and now shows only 25,000 miles. The car has mostly been kept garaged during its time in the UK, and has seen very little use due to the vendor having long business trips to the US. A new water pump, aluminium radiator and battery have been fitted, and the car has an MoT until November 2021. The car is described by the vendor as generally being in very good condition for the year, with paperwork to validate the description.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
