Car was at auction in '09
www.bonhams.com/cgi-bin/public.sh/pubweb/publicSite.r
Auction description:
Sale 17263 - Collectors' Motor Cars, Motorcycles and Automobilia, 18 Nov 2009
Yorkshire Event Centre, Harrogate
Lot No: 440
1968 Daimler V8 250 Sports Saloon
Registration no. LGR 90G
Chassis no. 1K4315DN
Engine no. 7K4440
Estimate: £9,000 - 10,000
Purchased from its original owner (golf correspondent of The Scotsman) in 1992, this Daimler V8 250 is one of relatively few delivered with the manual/overdrive transmission. We are advised that the car was restored circa 2006/2007, benefiting from a complete chassis rebuild and interior re-trim. The recorded mileage is said to be genuine and all receipts are on file. Finished in blue with matching leather upholstery, 'LGR 90G' is offered with current road fund licence, MoT to May 2010 and Swansea V5.

The Daimler on sale is a right-hand drive example manufactured in 1968. Equipped with the far rarer manual gearbox, it sports Blue coachwork complemented by a Light Blue leather interior. The vendor apparently knew the original owner of the V8 (the golf correspondent of the Scotsman newspaper), purchased the car direct from him in 1992, and is satisfied that the indicated mileage of 89,734 is genuine. 'LGR 90G' has enjoyed an element of restoration over time and is now regarded by the vendor as having "good" coachwork, "very good" paintwork and gearbox and an "excellent" engine. This very tidy-looking Daimler is MOT'd into May and taxed until the end of April.
