Ebay item 6/6/12
cgi.ebay.com/ebaymotors/1968-Jaguar-340-MK-2-/180900300853
Opening bid $10,000 reserve not met, no bids 6 days left in auction. Buy it now price $18,900. 76k miles.

Sellers description:
This is a numbers-matching 340 saloon that sold new in March, 1969 at Hamilton, Ontario. It is somewhat rare in that it is one of the last MK 2 saloons produced and is one of only about 500 left-hand drive manual cars produced for export. I have owned this 4-speed overdrive car since 1999 and during that period it has undergone a total mechanical overhaul and cosmetic restoration. All features of this classic British motor car operate correctly (except clock) and the car needs only routine maintenance to provide you with years of driving enjoyment. The engine, drive-train, brakes, suspension, electrics and accessories have been repaired or replaced with new components. The tires are new Michelin radials. The interior fabrics and finish are very good. The exterior paint is not original and has some minor flaws. The exterior chrome and stainless steel fittings is good with some items having been re-plated. Some areas of the door window frames and body bright work have minor pitting. The glass is all intact with no flaws. This car is mechanically sound and a joy to drive. The engine is still in the break-in phase and has run about 150 miles since the overhaul. I have original sale documentation and information about the original owner. I will gladly provide additional photos and details of the restoration work done.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
