A smart-looking right-hand drive example from 1968, this 240 was acquired by the vendor in 2006, repainted in Dark Green the following year, and retrimmed in Cream leather the year after that. It has covered relatively few miles in his tenure, but been regularly maintained and kept in an insulated/air conditioned garage. The vendor currently grades the upholstery as 'as new', the automatic transmission as 'very good', the bodywork and paintwork as 'good', and the six-cylinder engine as 'very reliable'.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
