Hammer Price £2500.00
Mileage 39849

Trim Colour LIGHT BEIGE
Chassis No IJ2355DN

CC 2483
M.O.T 9.7.1999
This 1968 Jaguar 240 saloon we have on offer for you today is described as being in good condition throughout and the bodywork is painted in British Racing Green and it has the light Beige interior trim and upholstery.
The odometer reading states 39849 miles, but the vendor has informed us that this is probably on its second time round and the car comes complete with a current M.O.T. certificate until July 1999, a road fund licence until June 1999, a current V5 registration document and a copious amount of general paperwork, including bills and receipts, which have been collected over the years.
It has the 2483cc six cylinder engine and the much preferred manual four speed manual gearbox with overdrive, which we are informed function as they should, and this would appear to be a good sound car which should prove very popular at the sale with the winning bidder gaining much pleasure from owning and driving the car in the future.
Please note that when the car arrived we noted that the brakes were not working. Please ensure that these are rectified before attempting to drive the car.

Auction description:
Offered here is a 1967 240, which has benefited from over £12,000 worth of improvement in the recent past. It is equipped with the 4-speed manual gearbox with overdrive and is finished in British Racing Green. The history file, which is 2 inches thick, contains a detailed and date sorted maintenance history, dating back to 1987. There is also an original, 1968, Jaguar service voucher booklet, which has details of early service history and MoT certificates from 1985 to date. This 240 Saloon is desribed as a very honest car, which drives very well and is ready to provide inexpensive, classic Jaguar motoring.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
