Ebay item 4/2/15
www.ebay.com/itm/Jaguar-E-Type-420-/191549656165
Current bid US $1,966 reserve not met 1 bid 9 days left in auction buy it now price $12,500. 36k miles.

Sellers description:
Hilltop Auto's 1966 420 Sedan fitted with the 4 speed manual gearbox was first dispatched to a Mr. Herr F Benz in Germany and as listed in the Jaguar Heritage Certificate, the car came through in a Dark Green paint with a Light Tan interior. The 420 Saloon or Sedan is very under rated vehicle. The 420 has some upgraded features that can not be found on the small Jaguar sedans. For instance the independent rear suspension, the V-12 E-type braking system, the 4.2 E-type engine with 2 S.U. carburetors, and the Varimatic power steering that does not leak like some others. The 420 was only made a total 2 years. Only 88 manual gearbox 420's were sent to the United States. Most of the 420 sedans shipped to the United States were fitted with an automatic transmission. The car starts right up and runs and drives, but the brakes will some attention as the car has been sitting for a while. The carburetors were recently rebuilt and the slave cylinder has been gone through. The interior in the car is in very nice condition. Here is your opportunity to to drive around in style in a classic Jaguar sedan with patina this summer.

I purchased this car in 2015 with the intention of doing light restoration work which I have started. Currently the rear suspension has been removed in order to replace the discs (rotors) and pads and any other work.Parts will be sandblasted and painted before reinstalling. The body work and underneath are rust free with exception of the bottom of the sills (rockers). Although the car requires a paint job this will be put on the back burner for a while and I intend to drive it and enjoy it through the summer months.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
