On eBay, December 2006. Ad reads:

"This Jaguar Mk 10 was owned for over 30 years by the famous Guggenheim Family in New york. The car has 75000 original miles. Never in snow or rain. Started every week and used in summer months only. Mr. Guggenheim said he used to drive the car regularly at over 100 mph. This is truly a collectible time piece. Everything is as it was. Nothing has been done to this car except routine maintenence. It drives well and the fit is great. Very tight car. Even has the original numbers matching engine. Never hit. This is a rare and gorgeous Jag with a great history. "

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
