Ebay item 5/14/23

www.ebay.com/itm/325654084819

Current bid: $1,136.11, 11 bids, 6 days left in auction, seller island2500, car now in Garland, Texas, 200 miles reported.

Seller's description:

1966 Jaguar Mark X 4.2 Liter WITH NEW 5.3 GEN-3 LS CRATE ENGINE(NO RESERVE)

The Jaguar Mark X (Mark ten), later renamed the Jaguar 420G, was British manufacturer Jaguar's top-of-the-range saloon car for a decade, from 1961 to 1970. The large, luxurious Mark X succeeded the Mark IX as the company's top saloon model, and was primarily aimed at the United States market. The company was built to appeal to heads of state, diplomats and film stars. The Mark X impressed with its technical specification and innovations. Contrary to its predecessors, the car featured integrated, unitary bodywork - the largest in the UK at the time, as well as independent rear suspension, unheard for early 1960s British luxury cars.

Originally fitted with a 3.8 Liter from the Jaguar E type, a select few Mark X’s were sold with the upgraded 4.3 Liter. Only 5,127 Mark X 4.2 Liters were produced and this example was originally finished in opalescent light maroon with beige interior. It was fully restored by celebrity Bikram Choudhury, founder of Bikram Yoga, and is believed to have covered less than 200 miles since restoration. It is equipped with period control device, stowable picnic tables, air conditioning, etc.

Subsequent owner was in the process of installing a brand-new 5.3L Gen-3 LS create engine when a theft occurred from the body shop. As such, the car has a FL-Salvage Certificate/Rebuildable and is sold AS-IS. It was not involved in any accidents. The engine was mounted in the chassis, driveline connected, serpentine belt drive system with a/c and p/s installed, sensors installed, and exhaust with headers installed. An FI intake and computer management system was installed, but not fully wired up. Fuel system was in process of getting plumbed when the theft occurred and no further work has been completed.

The car will require re-keying. All glass is intact. Car could be a reliable driver and really something wonderful for whomever choses to finish the project.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
