This is an authentic, original S Type with the rarer 3.4L engine ( made only for the European market as an S type; most U.S cars have the 3.8L), All-disc brakes and full-floating XKE independent rear suspension and Jaguar wire wheels with excellent tires on them. It is automatic; it shifts well into all forward and reverse gears, with no slippage, chatter or lag. The Jaguar has 72K original miles. Extensive partial restoration work documented: completely rebuilt Jag independent rearend, new brake discs and pads, new KONI coil-over struts in rear and KONI shocks in front, new fuel pump, cooling rail, radiator, new battery, new E-brake cable and pads, new upper & lower radiator hoses, new ALL secondary cooling hoses, custom-built NEW fuel tanks, wheel bearings and much more. Over $6K in mechanical refurbishing alone. This Jaguar is solid, with excellent floors, chassis and trunk. Original Navy blue with grayish leather. Front driver's seat bottom poor. Original JAGUAR wire wheels with knock-offs, not aftermarket. Car is unrestored, with lots of potential. The opening price more than reflects that. I am the second owner and have owned the Jaguar since 2007; it had not been my intention to sell it, but we are in the midst of a home purchase, thus the Jag will probably not be attended to as I had planned. It has been registered and titled in my name since 2007. Additionally, I also have its "Birth certificate" provided by Jaguar Motorcars U.K by special request.That in itself is an unusual item to have, and a must for any serious restoration. It has a CLEAR California title, with NO accidents and NEVER Salvaged, with current registration (again, in MY name) thru 2010. Smog exempt of course. The original owner of the Jaguar from whom I purchased it ( a now-retired Hewlett-Packard manager) acquired the car brand-new in the UK from Dewars Enterprises (a local London-based Jaguar & British Leyland Distributor) in 1966 and had it shipped to the U.S. The Jag is an all-original, unrestored and unmolested S Type in the much-rare 3.4L, with its original Right hand drive.

I have owned it since 2006. Original S type saloon imported from the UK in 1967. 78k original miles. AUTOMATIC. Stock 3.4L 6 cyl engine with dual carbs. XkE independent rear suspension. 4wheel Power disc brakes. Amazing vintage factory-original Jaguar wire wheels with MICHELIN tires (80% tread remaining).

Purchased in Silicon valley in 2006 from a guy that had purchased the car from a local charity (where the family of Mr. Hewlett had donated the vehicle to). He surmised that all he had to do was throw a battery and some gas in, and drive it away; well, it didn't work out quite as simple. The Jag had been sitting at their estate unused since the passing of William Hewlett a few years prior, likely due to faulty fuel pumps which were both inoperative at the time of my purchase.

Last driven by me in 2010. About $5k were spent at San Rafael British on Madera ave, in Marin county on new brakes, rotors, pads, parking brake cable and pads, fuel lines, radiator hoses, recored radiator, new fuel tank on one side, resealed the other, rebuilt fuel pumps, hose kit, wheel bearings, axle seals, wirewheel-hub bearings, new distributor cap, rotor, condenser, points, wires, etc. 

After a tedious, slow and pricey process ( think of like doing your laundry, making dinner and cleaning your house while a taxi has the meter running), they finally were able to get it running properly, and I drove it home across the Golden Gate bridge to San Mateo ( albeit very slowly and cautiously), without incident. I ensured both tanks were full ( probably flat by now).

The Jaguar will require full servicing to get it back up and running. And a battery. Body 95% solid, on still old original color. Headliner good, seat frames solid and door panels sound and complete. Seat upholstery poor. Dash veneer weathered but complete

ROCK SOLID chassis, floorboards, doors, door sills, roof, trunk, engine bay and windshield posts. Two small areas of corrosion on right side fender where water got trapped.

Please, do your homework before inquiring. This is fairly uncomplicated restoration project for a resourceful person with a little common sense and love for old British iron, or simply looking for something that surely stands apart from the crowd.

A great restoration candidate with tons of potential. Clear CA title in my name since 2007. Reportedly belonged to Mr. William Hewlett of HP fame, but did not delve into it further after I purchased it. It was the old, original "pink slip" square title, named to him and his spouse when they resided in Palo Alto, CA. The title showed a transfer date of 1967 ( which would coincide with Dewtars Enterprises in London's export records, where he purchased the Jaguar through). 

In hindsight, I should have saved the old original title, but had to surrender it in order to register it in my name. I also have its heritage Certificate from Jaguar.
