Auction description
by Charterhouse Auctioneers
A 1965 Daimler V8 250, registration number GLW 397C, chassis number 1A9367BW, engine number 7A9957, maroon. With only 46,000 miles recorded on the odometer this original V8 250 has matching numbers and appears remarkably untouched. Our vendor purchased the Daimler from an estate in 2003. The previous owners, a husband and wife, bought the Daimler new. Finished in maroon with a matching maroon leather interior, it is fitted with automatic transmission and sits on steel wheels. Since acquisition in 2003, there is accompanying service history including the fitting of a stainless steel exhaust and a brake overhaul amongst other maintenance. Now requiring some re-commissioning after a period in storage, this delightful Daimler will be offered for auction with a history file and is only reluctantly for sale due to an impending house move. V5, V5C, MOT and tax exempt

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
