Ebay item 8/27/08

Current bid $1,025.08 reserve not met, 7 bids, 5 days left in auction.
Sellers description:
1967 Daimler Sovereign California car.
Unfortunately, we do not know too much about the history of this vehicle. We purchased this car from a lien holder, and evidently the previous owner started to restore the car, however then abandoned it, and the landlord of the storage building took possecion of the car and sold it through e-bay. We purchased the car as a parts car, however found it to be too good and decided to go ahead with the restoration.
The has a few nicks, dents and scratches, however is practically free of rust, and a good dent doctor and following paint job, should do the exterior. The chrome is like new, the bumpers must have been rechromed recently. The inside needs a good cleaning, and refinishing of the wood trim. The dash looks bad and probably need to be recovered with leather. All the outside lights seem to work fine, inside need to be redone.
The head liner just need to be glued up again in the back. The seats are in very good shape, no cracks. Floor carpet need s good shampoo cleaning. Many parts go with the car. New rubber seals for front and back windshields. Complete frond steering end rebuild parts ( tie rods, bushings, etc.) Complete set of new shocks and struts. Rebuild kit for the SU carburettors, including floats.
New fender mirrors. New ignition key switch and door locks (ignition and trunk are installed, doors still need to be installed.) Basically the car needs to be put together and repainted, should not be missing too much. The engine runs good , however is not original. The engine number we can find is: WHITTLESEY, the original engine number should be: 7A31178-8. It is a 6 Cyl. Jaguar engine, but looks like more modern, maybe from the seventies. Transmission goes a little hard in gear, but then shifts very well, gear shifter needs adjustment.

Sellers description:
I am selling this great old Daimler that can be driven. It is a great car for restoration. Everything is present. Most of the chrome is in good condition and would not need to be re-chromed but is very usable as it is. There area few small surface rust spots that have just starting to appear but no rust through. The interior was redone several years ago by someone else but it is not a good job and should be done properly. All the wood on the interior is present and in good basic condition. It does need to be refinished but is structurally sound. The car does need paint. Tires are nearly new. I have nearly $4000.00 worth of parts already purchased for the car whch have not been used. Parts are easy to find for this car by the way. I have all new rubber seals for the windshield and rear window for when you have the car painted. Everything you need had either been done or is present for future work.
