Car was on BAT Ended On 5/13/15
bringatrailer.com/listing/1967-jaguar-340-mk-ii/

Auction description:
Lot #311
Location: San Francisco, CA
Chassis: P181430BW
95k miles shown
Well-maintained reliable driver
Long-term ownership history
Rebuilt suspension
Upgraded Wilwood disc brakes

This 1967 Jaguar 340 is a reliable driver that has been enjoyed for many thousand miles by its enthusiast owner. It was purchased by the seller in 2004 from his former girlfriend, who received the car as an 18th birthday present. It has been driven regularly - even as the seller's daily driver for a few years. It still wears its California black plate and was repainted 20 years ago in its original Willow Green. Thought to be a California car since new, it has remained dry and shows only a handful of small bubbling areas in the paint. The car presents as an honest driver and the seller says he would not hesitate to drive it to Los Angeles and back tomorrow.

Original paint can be seen in several areas, and the seller says, "I've had the seats out, etc. etc. and there's original paint in every crevice whereever you look. As noted this is a legitimate daily driven car. For a buyer who is competent to do most basic chores themselves, it will make a lovely ride to enjoy on a budget."

The car has been maintained and upgraded as needed over the last ten years. More recently the seller has performed a complete front end rebuild with powder-coating, poly bushings, new ball joints, and new shocks and sway bar bushings all around. The car has a Mallory dual point ignition, and new plug wires and valve adjustment has it running smoothly. The seller says the automatic transmission front seal does leak, however as long as one observes the recommended inspection intervals and keeps fluids topped, it works very well.

Seller's description:

Many systems rebuilt in last 5000 miles, including:

Wilwood Brakes in front, new stainless calipers in rear

5 new(ish) Vredestein Sprint Classics

w new Spax shocks

Re-cored stock radiator

Rebuild BW auto trans

13 inch period Moto Lita leather wrapped e- type replacement wheel in funky, patinated condition

all original glass

Spare parts included:

Unused re-cored heater core

New Lockheed brake booster

Original Steering Wheel

Stock spats

Stock front seat bottoms

Many, many more parts, bits, and pieces.

What this car is:

Excellent, fast driver for rallies, road trips, etc. Many long roadtrips, grocery runs, hardware store, and school drop offs, wine country weekends, and trips to the beach.

What this car isn't: Restored. Dings, dents, scrapes, evidence of road wear and street parking. Small scrapes on windshield, tiny chips in glass, interior is not amazing, some warping on door cards, carpet missing, but comfortable, wood in decent condition, some bits better than others, small rust areas ( quarter size) in wings near wheel arches, pinhead rust at base of rear window channels in doors, otherwise clean, tight, and dry long time California Car. 99% rust free. Front bumper could use re alignment and straightening. Very popular on instagram around San Francisco. Reluctantly selling to finance rebuild on my Series I E-type, other ventures, after 13+ years of true daily driving pleasure.

If you want to DRIVE, and have FUN, in STyle, with opportunities to tinker? this is your car.  I'd say this car is an pretty much an exact #4, per Hagerty guidelines:

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
