Car is to be at auction 3/12
www.coys.co.uk/auction.php

Auction description:
Lot 316 - 1965 Jaguar Mk 2 3.4
316 - 1965 Jaguar Mk 2 3.4
Estimate: £14,000 - £20,000
Registration Number: AHJ 97C
Chassis Number: 169452DN

This Jaguar was manufactured at Browns Lane on the 10th August 1965 and sold by Henleys of London, it was exported to Melbourne, Australia in 1970. Wishing for a car in good order and mindful of the dry weather in Australia, the present owner decided to buy from there, hoping for a lack of rust on the bodywork which is more difficult to find in the U.K. on an old car.

This he accomplished in 1990 and there is a photograph of the car body stripped down with no dents or filler on the metal.
An H.R.Owen mechanic reconditioned the engine and all mechanical parts, and a retired Jaguar leather worker renewed all leathers and carpets.

All the interior wood trimmings (dashboard, door trim etc.) were bare of polish due once again to the sun but have been stripped and re -lacquered to a very high standard. The car has been owned by the same person from 1990 to present date. The bodywork is finished in Metallic Gunmetal, with red leather and carpets as per the original specification.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
