Car was at auction in '08
www.shannons.com.au/auctions/lot/

Auction description:
This very smart Jaguar Mark II has the 3.4-litre engine and a retro-fitted 4 speed manual gearbox with overdrive, an excellent combination for these cars without the premium price tag attached to the bigger 3.8-litre model. Used as a weekend car for the past three years by the current owner, this example has benefited from an engine rebuild and regular servicing from Mike Roddy Jaguar, noted marque specialists. To be sold registered in Victoria with an operating, maintenance handbook, workshop manual, numerous receipts of work done and a Victorian Roadworthy Certificate supplied after sale.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
