Sellers description:
This car has an extremely rare option..it's one of only 100 ...please read on for details. I've been restoring this car for over 5 years . It is an ALL NUMBERS matching right hand drive car imported to the states by the second owner, an American Airlines pilot. I purchased the car from him (in Texas ) about 6 years ago . While having the motor totally rebuilt, by one of the best in the biz, Jim Forehead of Mr.Sports Car.inc, Jim brought it to my attention that there was something unusual about the motor..the new timing chain was too short and there were two hydrolic (oil fed ) tensioners instead of the normal (one hydrolic and one block tensioner) We contacted the supreme Jaguar authority, Walt Osborn and the crew at Vintage Jag Works in Blackfoot Idaho. Walt confirmed that this was indeed a rare bird..or cat! He had never seen one but had heard they existed ..and suggested the car might be worth 5 times a normal MK2.Walt then supplied a custom made timing chain and the build was completed. The factory offers no explanation , but it is rumored that these were Jaguar racing D motors I know of 2 other MK2's with this motor ..one is in New Zealand Please see.. www.IKmusic.co.nz./jag.htm ..he documents his Jag very well and has knowledge of another one in Sweden. Enough bout that..all in all its just a MK2. 3.4 See picks for engine details. The restoration is not complete , however the car is on the road and inspected in New York. I will list the things that still need to be done, or are not functional . The tack an speedometer are not hooked up..oil pressure gauge needs a sender..heater is a rebuilt unit from Jagaur (florida), but hoses and plumbing not yet installed.. have all original pieces..The car is a 4 speed /w overdrive, but overdrive not working (needs the switch on trans). ..and gas tank needs flushing ..(car currently runs on tank in trunk) All brakes , lines.. calipers.. rotors ..masters..except rear rotors and calipers are new or rebuilt..new pads ..rebuilt generator. Seats are new done in burgandy leather..(by Pirate upholstery..exellent!!) headliner is original. Currently the car is running rich, but still moves well ..Im waiting to get it in the shop for tuning. Also have reciepts.. original brochers..manuals.. parts books ..AND original ENGLISH PLATES assigned to the car!

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
