Sellers description:
1962 Jaguar 3.4 MKII - Manual overdrive with power steering. Supplied new by Rossleigh, Edinburgh. Chassis number 157387 DN. Comes with it's original registration number and buff log book along with a Jaguar Heritage Certificate. Mileage shows 44,000 believed correct. A supporting file of history shows the car to have had the following works undertaken. A full engine rebuild, ovedrive rebuild, new rear leaf springs, new electrical harness, new petrol tank, new wire wheels chrome, new stainless steel exhaust system, unleaded head, new power steering, new interior and extensive maintenance. The car is presented in excellent condition and has a current MOT until March 2008 and before you ask the jacking points are excellent, the crows feet are excellent, under the back seat is excellent and the oil pressure is faultless. No it's not a moss box as it has been converted to a much nicer full syncro box. The leather work is beautiful. The wood work is very good with some minor lacquer needing re-doing. The carpets are new. The previous owner has detailed the engine bay and had the car recently serviced. A very attractive motor car - Independent Engineers Report supplied with this car.

The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
