This 1966 Jaguar MK 2 is a left-hand drive example that is said to have been in the seller’s family for 25 years and was refurbished with new metallic paint, brightwork, carpets, body seals, and red interior upholstery in the 2010s. Power is from a 2.4-liter inline six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive, and additional equipment includes burl wood trim on the dashboard, doors, and folding rear picnic tables along with amber Lucas driving lights and a badge bar. This MK 2 is offered with partial service records, a workshop manual, and a clean Ohio title in the seller’s name.

The 2016 work included a repaint in gold, reportedly following rust repair in both front doors. The condition of the resulting finish is shown up close in the gallery below, with blemishes pointed out by the seller. Brightwork includes a badge bar up front as well as dual fender-mounted mirrors that are joined by a third on the driver’s door.

Steel wheels wear trim rings, hubcaps, and 195/75R-15 Goodyear Invicta tires. A full-size spare is housed in the trunk along with a screw jack and handle.

The interior was reupholstered in red Enduratex according to the seller, with matching carpet also added and the varnished woodwork refinished. Smiths gauges display fuel level, water temperature, amperage, and oil pressure. A 120-mph speedometer sits to the left of a combination clock and tachometer, the latter of which shows a 5,500-rpm redline. The five-digit odometer indicates 67k miles, with total mileage unknown. The period tri-band radio does not work.

Folding wood picnic tables for the rear bench seat occupants drop down from the low-back front seat backrests. The headliner was also replaced during the interior refurbishment.

The dual-overhead cam 2.4L XK-series inline-six delivered 120 horsepower and 143 lb-ft of torque when new and features dual Solex carburetors that are said to have been rebuilt four years ago. A four-speed manual gearbox routes power to the rear wheels via an electrically-actuated Laycock de Normanville overdrive unit.

The brake master cylinder was replaced in 2016 along with the rear calipers, pads, and lines. The idler and Pitman arm bushings were changed in May 2017.

Service records are available from the last 15 years according to the seller. A factory workshop manual is also included in the sale.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
