Car was at auction 10/06
www.brightwells.com/classiccars/PastResults/tabid/321/Default.aspx
Auction description:
Body colour: BRG
Date Manufactured: 1960
Registration Number: JCC 450
Chassis Number: 104165DN
History:
First registered in 1960, this particular car is said to be in exceptionally good condition throughout. It has only 54,800 miles on the clock which, judging by the fine condition of the interior, could well be genuine. Although there is only a limited amount of history with the car, it does have many old MOTs going back to 1989 to show that it has been in regular use, covering a mere 2,000 miles in those 17 years. There is also an invoice from 1999 indicating that the car had a very thorough service which included overhauling the cooling system and the front steering / suspension and re-setting the geometry.
Benefitting from the desirable manual overdrive gearbox, the car is said to drive very well with good brakes and surprisingly lively performance from the 2.4 litre engine. It has just sailed through its MOT with no problems and comes complete with its original and valuable registration number, JCC 450.
Guide price 7,500

Auction description:
Lot number 89
Hammer value £7,000
Description Jaguar MkII 2.4 MoD
Registration 493 YUA
Year 1960
Colour British Racing Green
Engine size 2,483 cc
Chassis No. 104165DN
Engine No. BC5984-8
First registered in July 1960, this particular car looks suitably traditional in classic British Racing Green with a Suede Green interior - the latter in lovely original condition. Although there is only a limited amount of history with the car, it does have 12 old MOTs going back to 1989 to show that it has been in light regular use, covering a mere 2,500 miles in the last 21 years. Last year the car was treated to a major service which included replacing all four brake discs and associated pipes and hoses at a cost of some £1,700.
Benefitting from the desirable manual overdrive gearbox, the car is said to drive very well with good brakes and lively performance from the 2.4-litre engine. Currently taxed and MOTd, it is due to be driven some 80 miles to the sale.
