Car was offered in Germany in 2023 at:

www.kickdown.com/de/postings/1983ed7b990f-1961-jaguar-mk2-in-22399-hamburg

Seller's description:

Jaguar Mk2

Year of manufacture 1961

Transmission Manual

HP 220

Mileage 47,325 mi

Country version UK

Location 22399 Hamburg

Color Green

The bodywork shines in a classic dark green, typical of English cars, and impresses with its blend of elegance and sportiness. The paint, chrome, and seals exhibit a charming patina commensurate with its age, perfectly complementing the limousine's authentic overall condition.

According to the seller, the hood and certain sections of the sides have been repainted.

No modifications deviating from the original condition are apparent on the body. The black folding roof is in immaculate condition and free of cracks.

This MK 2 features the original and highly sought-after chrome wire wheels; the tires, according to the seller, have approximately 70% remaining tread. The current owner of the Jaguar rates the brakes at 50-70% and reports no issues with the suspension.

The beige leather harmonizes beautifully with the dark British Racing Green paint. The leather seats are well-padded, and the entire interior, with its trim elements and wood accents, offers a comfortable and inviting atmosphere. This MK 2's optional extras include overdrive, power steering, adjustable front seatbacks, and a radio ("His Master's Voice"). Additional interior features include a large folding sunroof (Weathershield), a Moto-Lita wood steering wheel, and a rear reading light. With the exception of the radio, all interior features are functional. To get a detailed impression of the interior's condition, we recommend reviewing the numerous photos – the videos of the vehicle also provide a comprehensive view.

Based on a partially completed service history and the car's overall well-maintained condition, the odometer reading of 47,500 miles (approximately 76,450 kilometers) is nearly verifiable. The accompanying documents include a small and a large owner's manual. With the exception of the clock, all instruments in the dashboard are fully functional.

Under the hood is a 3.8-liter inline six-cylinder engine producing 220 SAE horsepower, and the driver shifts gears via a 4-speed manual transmission (plus overdrive). The last service was performed in November 2022, and apart from a slight oil leak—which the seller states is common for this type of vehicle—no defects are apparent. The exhaust system, with the exception of the muffler, is made of stainless steel, electronic ignition ensures greater reliability, and an additional cooling fan improves engine temperature.

Apart from some superficial rust, the underside of this sedan is free of any defects. Furthermore, apart from a later-added tow hook, the underbody is in pristine, unwelded condition. The seller states that despite its age, this Jaguar MK 2 is a reliable daily driver that has always been well cared for and meticulously maintained. This is a rare opportunity to acquire this popular sports saloon with two unusual extras. A box containing various spare parts will be provided when the vehicle is handed over.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
