Car on ebay:www.ebay.com/itm/187380972770
Car has a buy it now price of $17,900 for 29 days, seller canyonclassics, 54k miles
Seller's description:
1957 Jaguar Mk1 Saloon, 3.4L 6 Cyl, Auto, Long-Term Ownership, 21 Yrs of Docs!
This week Canyon State Classics brings to market one of the most solid MK1 Jaguar Sedans I've seen. Coming out of a 30yr local ownership. This is the most pure form of what Jaguar expressed with their early cars. It is a true statement of the Elegance of the mid 50's in Britain.
The following is a list of options as this MK1 is currently equipped:
-3.4L 6 Cyl Twin Carb Engine-3 Speed Borg Warner Automatic Transmission-Restored Wood-Cork Tan Interior-Factory Radio Delete
The body on the car is in very good condition and was extremely well maintained. There is no obvious evidense of any body work or metal repair, this appears to be a rust free original very straight body. The paint on the car is finished in a tan single stage paint which is a good base to pick a color of your choice. The car has been completely inspected underneath from front to back and is solid as a rock and well cared for garaged car should be. All chrome trim, glass, and rubber seals are in place and look fair. The car is riding on the original steel wheels with dog dish hubcaps wheels which look great and wrapped in brand new radials.
The interior is in very nice semi-restored condition all around. The dash and door panels are in very nice condition. The tan vinyl seats are all in very good condition and show minimal ware, which shows the quality of material used in this car. All wood grain is in excellent condition. The carpets are all very nice are not worn or damaged. All dials and controls function as they should, manual windows are fully functional. All lights, gauges switches, and accessories work as they should. The trunk compartment is very clean and a good start for re-upholstery. This car is all there and in excellent shape with all functions and accessories working as they should.
Mechanically, this MK1 runs GREAT! The car starts right up and shifts smooth as silk. The 3.4L is excellent. The engine sounds good at idle and runs up and down the street excellent. The engine does have some oil leaks which will need attention.
The car will include books, huge stack of receipts and history going back to around 1990.
All in all, this is THE cleanest and nicest Jag MK1 that I have had the privilege of being associated with, and is surely one of the NICEST in the Country! It has been professionally maintained and truly loved by its previous owners. This Sexy Cat is a fantastic car for the price and a one of a kind history.
