This 1950 Jaguar Mark V 3.5-Liter is a partially disassembled project which was acquired by the prior owners in the early 1990s. Frame and body metalwork was performed under prior ownership, and a pair of cylinder heads and a crankshaft for the 3.5-liter powerplant are included. Removed components have been boxed and bagged, including a 4-speed transmission, trim, and interior components. The prior owners also acquired new body mounts, wiring harnesses, brake components, and more as detailed on included invoices. This Mark V is offered with a clean California title.

The body and chassis were separated by the previous owner for rust repair, photos of which are provided in the gallery below. The fenders, side skirts, and hood have been primed, and the body tub and wheels wear an older off-white finish.

The seller has staged the car with many of the bolt-on panels removed, exposing the underlying metalwork. The previous owners labeled much of the removed trim and other components, which are shown in the gallery. According to included invoices the previous owners also sourced new body mounts, grommets, door seals, and other hardware.

The top bows are shown both raised and lowered, and the factory front and rear seats are shown staged inside the car. A partial set of interior wood is included, and much of the interior trim was bagged and labeled by the prior owners.

The inner firewall and side panels have been primed, and the cabin floors are photographed in the gallery below. The instrument cluster is shown in the gallery, and includes a 120-mph speedometer, a reverse-sweep 5k-rpm tachometer with nested clock, as well as a fuel gauge and ammeter. 43k miles are shown on the 5-digit odometer.

Mark V models were powered by a pushrod inline-six with overhead valves, rather than the double-overhead cam XK inline six that debuted with the XK120. The engine block is missing from this example, though a crankshaft and two cylinder heads are included. A 4-speed manual transmission sends power to the rear wheels.

The trunk interior is pictured above and incorporates a hinged panel for the factory tool kit.

Included components are pictured in the gallery below. Attached invoices show that in addition to the removed original components, the spare parts cache includes new wiring harnesses, brake hoses, suspension bushings, and more.

Photos are included of the metalwork performed under prior ownership, and other documentation includes books on the model, a parts catalog, an upholstery brochure, and more. The water-damaged owner’s manual, maintenance booklet, and other literature are included.

Spam prevention question (must be answered):
The father of jokes about warm beer and smoke escaping from wires is Joseph Lucas. Lucas died of typhoid after drinking infected water in Naples in 1902.

What disease did Lucas succumb to?
