This 1960 Jaguar Mk II was purchased new in Switzerland and imported to the US in October 1960 by its original owner. The car is finished in white over red leather upholstery, and power is provided by a 3.8-liter inline-six linked to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Equipment includes driving lights, chrome-finished 15″ wire-spoke wheels, four wheel disc brakes, a heater, rear picnic trays, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo. This Mk II is offered by the selling dealer with manufacturer’s literature, service records, a catalog CD, and a clean California title, listing it as a 1961 model year.
The car is finished in white and was reportedly repainted some time ago. Equipment includes fender-mounted side mirrors, driving lights, chrome bumpers with overriders, a 3.8L Jaguar badge on the grille, a Leaper hood ornament, removable rear fender skirts, front and rear vent windows, and dual exhausts. Flaking chrome on the front bumper, pitted chrome trim, peeling paint on the hood, and cracks on the rocker panels is visible.
Chrome-finished 15″ knock-off wire wheels are wrapped in 185SR15 Vredestein Sprint ST tires. Braking is handled by four wheel discs. The rear pads and left rear caliper cylinders were replaced in 2017 along with the master cylinder.
The cabin features front bucket seats and a rear bench upholstered in red, along with wood trim on the dashboard, tops of the door panels, and pillars. Amenities include a heater, front shoulder belts, rear picnic trays, and a Blaupunkt AM/FM stereo with speakers mounted on the front kick panels.
The two-spoke steering wheel fronts Smiths instrumentation consisting of a 140-mph speedometer, a tachometer with an inset analog clock, and centrally positioned auxiliary gauges displaying water temperature, oil pressure, fuel level, and amperage. The five-digit odometer shows 55k miles, though true mileage is unknown.
The 3.8-liter inline-six is equipped with twin SU carburetors that were rebuilt in 2017. Additional work at that time included rebuilding the generator, installing a rebuilt voltage regulator, and replacing the fuel tank, pump, sending unit, filler cap, and filter along with the distributor cap and rotor, ignition points and coil, spark plugs, battery, and air filter.
Power is sent to the rear wheels through a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive.
