Finished in Opalescent Dark Green, this Jaguar arrived at the historic Emil Frey AG dealership of Zurich, Switzerland, on 1 April 1966. Clearly with sporting intentions in mind, the car was specified with the top-of-the-line 3.8-liter inline-six mated to a four-speed manual transmission with overdrive. Additionally, the car was outfitted with a Beige leather interior, a heated rear window, and power steering, which pushed the original listed price to 26'650 CHF. The car was then purchased by master craftsman Jacques Scharer-Tresch of Jacques Schäer AG painting and wallpapering on 20 April 1966.
The car remained in Switzerland with Scharer-Tresch until October 2004, when it was brought to Epinal, France, with its next owner, Daniel Billerey. Taken in by its high degree of originality at the time, the car continued to be lovingly preserved until it entered Serge Allaert's collection in August 2020. Today, the car displays charming patina throughout with just 59,000 kilometers at cataloging. With just three owners from new, the car has been remarkably well preserved, still wearing largely original paintwork. When new, the 'S' Type was beloved for combining the luxury of the large Mark X with the improved roadholding of the Mark II. Now a beloved classic, this top-of-the-line 3.8-liter model in its timeless color scheme is surely one of the finest original examples currently on offer.
